Introduction to SAT Exam
SAT is also called the Standard Aptitude test. Also, have you ever wondered why there’s an examination called the SAT? Well, well, it’s because the US institutions seek credibility in the student’s learning patterns and want to test the aptitude by their standard exam. This SAT exam involves mathematics and English portion of the paper. SAT exam is offered six times a year to international students: October, November, December, January, March (USA only), May, and June. The registration date for the exam is a month prior to the date on which you plan to take it.
Merit and demerit of SAT
Well, I might be biased here in this blog but I would say it only has merit to take one SAT exam. To prepare for the SAT exam, you can mainly check out the Khan Academy and college panda.
SAT Scoring
Talking about the scoring in the SAT exam, it has a total of 1600 scores which involves 800 equivalent to Mathematics and another 800 for English. The English section is divided into two sections: the reading and writing section with 400 marks for each section. The reading section of the SAT includes reading passages and solving the questions whereas the writing section mainly deals with the grammatical rules and stuff. In the math section, students generally have to deal with arithmetic operations, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability. Remember, the concept and idea you need to have for the math section are the same as your school or high school level.
Why to appear for SAT Exam?
As I said earlier, it only has merits to take an SAT exam. Even if you have a lesser GPA in your high school then don’t worry if you have prepared well for the SAT exam. It can compensate to a certain extent with a higher SAT score but keep in mind that it’s not mandatorily the case in all contexts.
With all these being said, don’t ever think that SAT is only for the smarter or genius students. Well, it’s about the tips and tricks rather than genius on its own. This whole thing is designed by a team of psychologists keeping in mind the state of mind of students while sitting for the examination. So prepare well and get ready for the SAT to score well.
Best wishes if you’ve already registered for one!
